Laureus Chairman, Edwin Moses was accompanied by movie star Jackie Chan on a visit to Cambodia.  After decades of warfare, the disposal of land mines remains one of Cambodia's most serious problems.   "This is the most heavily mined area in the world.  I am sure there is something we can do," said Moses,  "Using sport as a tool to help in the rehabilitation process here in Cambodia"

Moses and Chan pledged to work with local agencies to develop a programme to use sport to educate young people about the issue of land mines and unexploded ammunition and to help with the rehabilitation of victims.  Although the number of deaths and injuries in land mine and UXO (unexploded ordnance) related accidents have fallen recently, thousands of people continue to be killed or injured.
