ACADEMY MEMBERS MEET FORMER PRIME MINISTER BLAIR IN MOSCOW

Laureus Sports Academy members Daley Thompson, New Zealand Blacks rugby star Sean Fitzpatrick and Edwin met with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair at the annual Renaissance Capital International investor’s conference held in Moscow this past June. Blair was keynote speaker at the event along with the Russian Foreign Minister. Renaissance Capital extended the invitation due to the efforts of Academy member Sean Fitzpatrick and his long-term relationship with the international

financial services company.   The academy members were on a fundraising effort for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

“The Russian economy is well poised to work with us in our mission to use sport as a tool for social change.  It was brought to our attention that outside the major cities, there is a great need to replace sports facilities and begin to rebuild programs for youth.” said Moses.

COCA COLA CAMPAIGN TO HIGHLIGHT MOSES

‘Ceremony’, which celebrates the 80-year partnership between Coca-Cola and the Olympic Games, features emotional, historical footage of Olympic and Special Olympic athletes receiving their medals backed by the voiceover,
“If you’ve had a Coke in the last 80 years, you’ve had a hand in

making every Olympic dream come true.”  Legendary athletes in the
ad entitled “Ceremony” include U.S. track & field Olympic athlete Carl Lewis, Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci, Edwin Moses, French alpine skier Jean-Claude Killy and U.S. sprinter Wyomia Tyus.
